Music will really help to boost the party atmosphere at your Big Lunch. You could see if your neighbours can play any instruments or sing, or perhaps there’s a local band or DJ you could get to perform.
There’s nothing like a sing-song to get people involved and having fun. But if people are too shy to sing, you might be able to get them to join in with whistling or clapping, or even drumming a beat with their hands on your Big Lunch table.
Some Big Lunchers have staged talent contests in the past, while others have found simpler ways to make noise that everyone can join in with. Here are few musical ideas:

This year, we’ve teamed up with Big Dance and 5-a-day Fitness who have produced The Big Jubilee Dance exclusively for this year’s event. It takes you, your friends and your neighbours through a journey of music and dance through the six decades of the Queen’s reign.
It’s a fun and simple dance routine, perfect to get everyone up off their feet and learning on the day of your Big Jubilee Lunch!

Why not follow in the steps of the Lost and Found Orchestra and make household items into musical instruments? You could use bowed saws for strings; bottle and kettles for woodwind and brass; and just about anything that you can tap without breaking for percussion.
