Funding

Big Lunches don’t have to be expensive affairs; we have lots of ideas to help you have a memorable day in a low cost way. Start planning early and you could take advantage of special deals and collect materials for your bunting and decorations.

Our Friends at the Funding Doctors have shared some of their useful tips on holding a Big Lunch on a budget, by harnessing goodwill and the resources you already have at home and in your community.

You can download our joint 'Big Lunch on a Budget' guide here.

If you think a little bit of cash will help your Big Lunch have a more lasting impact in the community, have a quick look through the list below to see if you fit the criteria for any of these grants. It’s not an exhaustive list, so also do your own search for local sources of funding and we’ll add others as we hear of them.

Please remember some funds on this list give grants only to organisations or registered charities, others require several months’ notice, or only process applications at certain points throughout the year. To give yourself the best chance, make sure you read the full criteria available on the individual websites carefully, tailor your application to closely meet the criteria and leave plenty of time for it to be processed.

Local Authority Community based grants

  • Local Authorities

Even if they don’t have any funds available they may be able to help in other ways or direct you to other local organisations for help and support.
