The Big Lunch 2010

When is it?

We’re aiming for an even bigger Big Lunch in its second year, on Sunday 18th July 2010. We’d love you to join us.

What is it?

A Big Lunch can be anything from simply getting together with your immediate neighbours – in a garden, on the street – through to organising a bigger street party, with food, bunting and music, that quite literally stops the traffic.

We’ll be providing lots more information and ideas on our website in the coming months, but click on ‘The first Big Lunch’ tab above to see what happened last year.

Who’s taking part?

Over 9 million people have indicated they want to get involved in the next Big Lunch, and 85% of people who participated in 2009 have said that they’re looking to organise one for 2010.

The chances are that someone in your own street is already interested. We’ll be launching a new website that allows you to ‘find’ people in your neighbourhood who’d like to get together to make something exciting happen on 18th July 2010.

What should we do next?

Put the date in your diary and start telling your neighbours about the idea. We’ll be bringing you more information on this website soon, including tips on organising your own Big Lunch and how to find one in your area.
